Footprints

Have you ever walked the sands of a beach? Have you ever looked back to find little marks imprinted into the sand? And have you ever watched as the wind gently blew the marks into eternity? If you haven't, try the local beaches.

Take off your slippers and take a step. Take a second step. Take still another step and another and another. Now, look back.
What do you see?
Marks in the sand. Marks that look a little like... hey! Your feet!
The marks are undeniably your footprints.
Now take a closer look, bend a little lower if you want. Notice that some marks are deep and clear while some are faded and shallow. Note that the marks fade away with each passing moment, brought by the wind hither into nothingness...

I believe that we are all pilgrims on a journey we call 'life'. On this journey, each of us weaves a future with the needle of the present and the thread of the past. In the undertaking of this journey, we each also leave behind marks that mark the trail for those who come behind us. Marks that have come to be known as footprints.

Some people go through life leaving footprints in the sands of time. Some leave footprints in the soil of wealth, toil and sweat. Still come leave footprints in the hearts of others.
Some impressions are faded, shallow.
Some are left deep and clear.
Some are no longer 'impacted'.

I would like to leave this thought in your mind, dear reader:

"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live in such a way that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice"

PS: I want to share this with everyone just for you to take some time off from your busy life and think about it.

Who has left footprints in your heart?

Sometimes we are too busy with our own lives that we have forgotten to notice the people around us. Those who care for us. Those who love us. Those who have sacrificed for us without even asking for something in return. Those who have faithfully stayed by our side every moment.

Ask yourself. Have you ever cared for them? Have you ever expressed your gratitude to them? Have you ever treasured them? If you haven't, do it now. It's never too late to start now.

Don't forget that without them, you are nothing but a lonely man.

Cherish every moment you have with them - No one can live alone in this world.
