6D Motion Theater

Location: Dataran Pahlawan, Melaka

Description: 3D Movie + Motion + Touch + Smell

Length: 8 Minutes

Price: RM11 - RM13

Rating: 7/10

Comment: The parts involving wind and water were very real. We were moderately wet and extremely cold. Our legs could even feel the eerie feelings of things crawling around us created by the effect of ropes. Sound effect was great. Plot was moderate. Motion was moderate. Graphic was slightly below expectation. There was no smell. But overall it was a great experience. It’s worth to watch at least once in a lifetime.

Just Do It!

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not advertising for Nike. Don’t you think this phrase is powerful? In a sense that if you dare to follow.

I came across this song and a phrase quoted by my friend in FB.

“Dream what you want to dream;
go where you want to go;
be what you want to be;
because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things
you want to do.”
Quoted from Dr. Choong Kwai Fatt

Most people tend to choose the path that is made ready for them. We would go for the safer side, a path which we thought would give us a better future. Most people sacrifice their dreams just to take this path, thinking that their dreams are vague, hard to chase, grey future, not a smooth path, or even unobtainable.

But most people don’t realize their true potential. Because they just don’t believe in themselves. Restricting and limiting yourself is like putting a big rock in front of you that stop you from going further. Then, you turn to an alternative road which you may not really like. Confidence is an important element in supporting your belief towards your ability.

Since I was young, I was being brought up in the way that a typical family would do. Go to school, get good result, obtain scholarship, receive a degree certificate, find a good job, earn money and build a family. It seems almost like a routine for me. And I believe I’m not the only one who is being brought up this way.

It’s not a bad thing to have guidelines in our lives so that we know the direction of the place that we are heading to. But those are just guidelines. Not the perfect answer to your life’s journey.

There are also numerous successful people out there. These are the people who dare to take the risk. Who dare to do something different. Who dare to follow their dreams. Who dare to say, “Just do it!”

I want to be one of them.

Rynn Lim's Appearance In Malacca

爱上了林宇中

You can guess that this post will be about Rynn Lim. I went to his 签唱会 yesterday at Dataran Pahlawan, Melaka. I really don't know how to describe my feeling at that moment. I was very happy to see him in person. That happiness was indescribable. Although I'm not a big fan of his, I still like him very much and admire his talent in song composing. I listen to many songs by variety of singers but so far I truly only adore 4 of those artists from chinese music industry. They are Stefanie 孙燕姿, Rynn 林宇中, Jacky 张学友 and Jing 张芸京.

Though I was happy to see him yesterday, I was upset too when I saw the response from the public. There wasn't many people attended. I guess the publicity of his appearance in Malacca has not been widely spread. Even though my highest admiration is for Stefanie Sun, somehow I feel closer to Rynn Lim. Maybe partly because he is my senior from 摇篮手 and also my cousin's friend. Sometimes I really sympathize him. Becoming a local artist ain't that easy. You may see them living gloriously, but you don't know how they really live and feel deep within their heart. They are also normal human beings like us and their income based solely on us, the public.

I bought his album {Dearest Bride} and went to get his signature. I managed to talk him and invited him to come and watch Yao Lan Shou Live Concert next year. This is an annual concert for YLS held in UM and usually many local music producers and composers would attend. Rynn Lim and 李志清 have attended for the previous performance which was held on 24 February 2010.

Yesterday wasn't the first time for me to meet him in person and get his signature. When he released his 1st album, I went to support his mini concert and got his signature too. So in total, I have 2 of his original albums with his signature on them.

I didn't need to wait long in the queue for his autograph. Everything moved so fast and smooth. Like I said, there wasn't many people too. I wonder how would he feel seeing the response turned out to be like this.

There was a short game session and 3 people were being selected up. Their task was to sing his song, that's all. Easy, right? But I didn't raise my hand up to be selected because I don't really know his new songs well. Aiks... Miss it!

After the event, I went to yam cha with my friends. We went to De Rice Cafe located near Pure Bar Area. I ordered this!

Haha!! Kawaiidesu! To wind up this post of mine, I want to say "I love you, Rynn!"

Water Gun Fight

I'm back with another adventure of the day! Haha... I went to my friend's house to play water gun! Err... did I just mention water gun?

Yup! Exactly! Water gun fight! Some of you may think that this is a childish game and only kids would play this but you are wrong. Although it is just a simple water shooting activity but it was really fun!! This was the first time I played and it was very exciting! We attacked each other and at the same time helped one another. Before you could even run away, your whole body is already wet. Haha... Feels like playing in a water theme park although we were just playing at the house's compound.

This game is good in a way that it is simple, silly, fun, crazy and a bit childish but it helps to release stress and cheer up your day! =) If you have the chance, you can try it out.

We started playing at 10.00pm and it ended about 11.30pm. Then my friend said she was hungry so off we went to nearby mamak where my friend recommended "roti oren". The taste is kinda weird. I don't think I'm going to eat this again in my life. We chit chatted until 2.00am.

I love this kind of feeling. Have a drink with friends and talk, talk, talk... Talk all the way till we forget the time! Haha... It really feels good to spend time with friends listening to their stories of life and sharing my stories of life as well. I knew a few new friends from the water gun activity just now. They are nice and fun people.

By the way, I got a new nickname from them as well. Mosquito. I know you are thinking now why mosquito. The story goes like this... I went out with my classmates for dinner the day before at Sakura House if you read my previous post. Those new friends I knew were there as well. We shared some silly jokes or should I say lame jokes. So I gave them my lame IQ question. "What is the difference between a mosquito and a fly?" No one can answer it. So when I disclosed my answer, all of them turned (-_-)'''

At that time they still didn't know my name. And since then, they called me as mosquito. The end of the story. LOL! That's all for now! Gotta sleep d... it's 4.47am. Sayonara and ohayo gozaimasu!

Half Day Outing

This morning I went to Sunway Pyramid with my friends to support one of our friends who managed to make it to the top 15 of Astro Talent Quest 2010. Woohoo!!! Congratulations!!!

I know, I know... It's study week and we are supposed to stay in room to study, study and study... But I just wished to get out of UM and leave studies life for a moment. And since my friend was running a publicity show for Astro Talent Quest top 15 (what a coincidence... hehe...), I allowed myself to use this reason to curi tulang. =p

Our friend: Sam Wong *Support him ya!!*

The Top 15 Contestants

Of course, since we were out already, we didn't waste the outing and treated ourselves with good food!! *Better food, better brain.* We went to FULLHOUSE after the show. *HAPPY* ^^

From left: Grace, Stef, Yap, Li Peng

After exam, I must travel, travel, travel!!! Although Sabah trip isn't successful due to some reasons, at least if I can get to visit some nice places nearby would be good enough!

The must-do-list:
1) Visit Broga Hill and Bukit Tinggi
2) Movie marathon
3) Shopping (thinking to change style)
4) Sing KTV
5) Go Sunway Lagoon
6) Go Muar to hunt for food
7) Master chinese language (reading & writing)

My dream-list:
1) Master a musical instrument (maybe guitar)
2) Sing, sing, sing and sing!! (voice training)
3) Have my own band
4) Perform in PTUM and DAYAO be it dancing, singing or acting
6) Join modelling

Maybe some of you might think that I have big dreams and the possibility to become true is low. But who doesn't have dreams? Only dreams will ignite our passion to drive towards its achievement. Nothing is impossible if one has the will. So dare to dream!

Malacca Drum Percussion

Last Friday I went to help out my friend in a concert-competition and there were a few guest performers. One of them was Malacca Drum Core and I felt that theirs is the best performance on that day. Here is the clip. Enjoy!!

3D Animation - Mariage En Blanc (Wedding in White)

Ok, here is another video to show you. My friend who took animation course made her group final year project and this is their production. Though the story line may be quite blur, the effect and animation they did was good. It feels like Final Fantasy. For better viewing, click on the title link.

Just For Eng Kuan

Finally, I have time to update my blog again. Phew!! The past few days have been busy with stuff. For this post, let me show you what I've been spending my time doing for 2 days. It's my friend's 21st birthday!! As a special gift for him, I've made this multimedia show for him. The actual length is supposed to be 13 minutes but because youtube only limits the video up to 10 minutes, I've shortened the video to upload to youtube and post in my blog. This is the 1st time I did multimedia show. Any comment is welcome! =)

Music Love Story by Stefanie Sun

I just came across this short movie of Stefanie Sun taken when she released her 1st album. Although it is not a very romantic, exciting movie, it actually taught me something. I hope you will enjoy it too!^^

Here We Come... Jonker!!!

As I've mentioned in my previous post, UM Yao Lan Shou went to Malacca for camp as a preparation for next year Dayao. On Saturday night (22/11/08), we performed at Jonker Street. The singer group sang 13 songs including our theme song, {Ai.Suo Yi} and the dancer group danced a song, {Belly Dancer}.

During the journey to Malacca - I managed to snap a picture of our YLS president while he was sleeping *Heehee*

Committee members waiting for the performance to start *If you see properly, you can find 2 people "syok sendiri" there* =p

Rynn Lim - Malacca Visit

Rynn Lim (Lin Yu Zhong) travels around Malaysia to meet his fans and on 24/11/08 (Monday) he came to Mahkota Parade, Malacca. Although I'm not a crazy fan of his, I still went to see to support him because he was my senior. What?! Senior?! Yes! You didn't read wrongly, he can be so called my senior because he was UM student and he joined "Yao Lan Shou", a song composing club and he learnt to compose songs from there. Now, I'm also one of the members of this club and our club had just came to Jonker Street, Malacca to perform on last Saturday (22/11/08).

There he is!
