Music Love Story by Stefanie Sun
I just came across this short movie of Stefanie Sun taken when she released her 1st album. Although it is not a very romantic, exciting movie, it actually taught me something. I hope you will enjoy it too!^^
Ouch!! It hurts!!
Today I just got my results. Quite upset because I didn't manage to do well. I really don't know where went wrong. I guess I didn't work hard enough.
Who says STPM is hard?? I think university courses are harder. At least STPM we can hit for 4.0 but in university, the probability is nearly zero.
If my teacher knew about my result, I'm sure going to get scolded by him, "Girl, you're stupid you know..." -_-"' Very long didn't hear his voice d... Miss him... Miss his scolding...
He was the one that taught me to I am today. But I neglected his advice. He asked me to work hard once I entered university. Work like there's no tomorrow. I took his words for granted. I did work, I did study, but not to my full effort. And I always did last minute job.
What he said to me was right. I was a foolish person. I thought I was smart, but actually it was the other way round - "Bodoh"
I always live in the past glory, he said. He was absolutely right!
I'm upset but at the same time I feel calm. Maybe I have already found what I want in my life... What's my purpose of living... What is more important to me...
Once I fall down, I'll be able to get up again. So I won't give up. No matter what...
Excellent Thoughts!
If you born poor it's not your mistake, but if you die poor it's your mistake.
In a day, when you don't come across any problems - you can be sure that you are traveling in a wrong path.
Three sentences for getting success:
1. Know more than other
2. Work more than other
3. Expect less than other
If you win, you need not explain but if you lose, you should not be there to explain.
Don't compare yourself with anyone in this world. If you do so, you are insulting yourself.
If we cannot love the person whom we see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?
Winning doesn't always mean being 1st, winning means you're doing better than you've done before.
I will not say I failed 1000 times, I will say that I discovered there are 1000 ways that can cause failure.
Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.
If someone feels that they had never made a mistake in their life, then it means they had never tried a new thing in their life.

You may not realize it, but somehow you are important to some other people in life
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.'
I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.' They really should get lives.' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'
There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.
We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.
Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday! ' He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors we began to think about college.
Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.
Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. 'Thanks,' he said.
As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began 'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach but mostly your friends. I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.'
I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. 'Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.' I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.
Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

No pain, no gain
Diary
I don't feel good. When I feel so, it makes me wanted to write in this diary. It's not that I want everyone to know what's happening to me. It's because I don't want to disturb my friends or family by approaching them directly and telling them my problems. So it's better off writing it down.
I have a mixed feeling. Hard to describe. But I just know I feel uneasy with this feeling. Sometimes I feel that it's better for me to leave my home country and go venture alone out there to start a new life in a new environment. At least, I would be much lighter in terms of the burden within myself that I could let go when I leave.
But it's my choice to stay here. I just can't leave like that. I have family to take care of. And they are my priority. But they are not a burden to me.
The burden I have is the past memories of mine which was full of sadness, disappointment. Although it has passed, it does not leave my mind and soul. I want to let go, but it's hard. Sometimes it just keep appearing in my mind. I guess that's a reminder for me. Not to let it repeat in my life.
Speech by Pulitzer Prize winner, Anna Quindlen
This was a speech made by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Anna Quindlen at the graduation ceremony of an American university where she was awarded an Honorary PhD.
"I'm a novelist. My work is human nature. Real life is all I know. Don't ever confuse the two, your life and your work. You will walk out of here this afternoon with only one thing that no one else has. There will be hundreds of people out there with your same degree: there will be thousands of people doing what you want to do for a living. But you will be the only person alive who has sole custody of your life. Your particular life. Your entire life. Not just your life at a desk, or your life on a bus, or in a car, or at the computer. Not just the life of your mind, but the life of your heart. Not just your bank accounts but also your soul.
People don't talk about the soul very much anymore. It's so much easier to write a resume than to craft a spirit. But a resume is cold comfort on a winter's night, or when you're sad, or broke, or lonely, or when you've received your test results and they're not so good.
Here is my resume: I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never to let my work stand in the way of being a good parent. I no longer consider myself the centre of the universe. I show up. I listen. I try to laugh. I am a good friend to my husband. I have tried to make marriage vows mean what they say. I am a good friend to my friends and they to me. Without them, there would be nothing to say to you today, because I would be a cardboard cut out. But I call them on the phone, and I meet them for lunch. I would be rotten, at best mediocre, at my job if those other things were not true.
You cannot be really first rate at your work if your work is all you are. So here's what I wanted to tell you today: Get a life. A real life, not a manic pursuit of the next promotion, the bigger pay cheque, the larger house. Do you think you'd care so very much about those things if you blew an aneurysm one afternoon, or found a lump in your breast? Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze at the seaside, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk circles over the water, or the way a baby scowls with concentration when she tries to pick up a sweet with her thumb and first finger.
Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you. And remember that love is not leisure, it is work. Pick up the phone. Send an email. Write a letter. Get a life in which you are generous. And realize that life is the best thing ever, and that you have no business taking it for granted. Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to spread it around. Take money you would have spent on beer and give it to charity. Work in a soup kitchen. Be a big brother or sister. All of you want to do well. But if you do not do good too, then doing well will never be enough.
It is so easy to waste our lives, our days, our hours, and our minutes. It is so easy to take for granted the color of our kids' eyes, the way the melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again. It is so easy to exist instead of to live. I learned to live many years ago. I learned to love the journey, not the destination. I learned that it is not a dress rehearsal, and that today is the only guarantee you get. I learned to look at all the good in the world and try to give some of it back because I believed in it, completely and utterly. And I tried to do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned.
By telling them this: Consider the lilies of the field. Look at the fuzz on a baby's ear. Read in the back yard with the sun on your face. Learn to be happy. And think of life as a terminal illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion as it ought to be lived."
